A Guide to the Faction Games at the Great Erdrejan Fayre 1119
The following games will be played by teams from each Faction. Each Faction is expected to provide one and only one team for each of the games they are scheduled to play. They are also strongly encouraged to bring along a number of supporters who are prepared to offer their voices, wit and wisdom as part of the proceedings.
Each game will consist of two parts – the main game, and the supporters’ game. For example, the game of Juggerball, the competing factions will play both to win the overall game of Jugger, but also to prove their superiority with the quality of the singing and chants of support during the game. Details of the supporters’ part are detailed against each game. Where the game is played in a tournament, the supporters’ part only applies in the first round.
By playing these games, the Factions are able to score points and are thereby ranked over the course of the weekend. The Faction at the top of the board at the end of the weekend will received a special reward.
Faction Ranking
Factions will score points as outlined against each game below. In the event of two factions have the same score at the end of the event, then the total points scored in the First Round of Juggerball, and the Only Correct game will be added together, and those factions ranked highest to lowest. In the event this is still a draw, the number of points they conceded in the First Round of the Jugger tournament will be counted.
The Faction with the highest number of points at the end of the Games will win an additional Ritual Slot at the Gathering of Nations. This year sees the Factions of the Heartlands and Southlands meeting at the Wellspring of Law in Vipers lands.
Juggerball
Each Faction will play one other faction in the First-Round match. The Winning Team with the Highest Scoring in the First Round will progress immediately to the Finals (and receive an additional 4 points on top of their 2 points for winning to add to their Faction score). The remaining 4 winners will be paired off to play Second-Round matches, the winners of which will play each other in the Semi Final. Then the final will then be played to find “Jugger Championship Winners 1119”
Remember Faction Scoring happens for each match you play, all the way to the final!
Overview
Two teams compete to get the Juggerball into the goals at either end. Any number of players can be on a team however only 7 can be on the pitch at any one time. Substitutions can be made after each point is scored.
The Rules of Juggerball
- Each player may only use the skills allocated to their chosen Jugger position (see below).
- No external magic or abilities are allowed to be used on those on the pitch.
- Only the quick may touch, carry or throw the Juggerball.
- The team scores a point if their quick gets the Juggerball into the other team’s goal.
- After each score the players return to their starting positions.
- A match consists of three rounds, called Stones, of 10 minutes each.
Jugger Positions
- 1 x Quick – 1 Hit. No weapons or shields allowed.
- 2 x Blocker – 3 Hits. No weapons allowed. May use a shield.
- 2 x Blitzer – 1 Hit. May wield a one-handed weapon
- 2 x Enforcer – 1 Hit. May wield a two-handed weapon.
Faction Scoring
- 2 for winning the match
- 1 point for a loss
- -3 for a No Show
In the event that the score is tied after all three stones have been played then a final will be played where the first team to score will win that match.
Supporters Part – Voice of the Crowds
Factions are encouraged to bring along a crowd of supporters and spectators to their matches. They are encouraged to sing and chant suitable, family friendly things as enthusiastic crowds of supporters are prone to doing. The Voice of the Crowd has the following rules:
- Content aimed at the player(s) and not their character(s) will NOT be tolerated.
- All output must be suitable for the ears of even the youngest children. Crudeness will not be tolerated and violations by a faction will immediately result in losing this part of the game.
- Changes will be judged on rhythm, quality, and volume
Faction Scoring
The faction whose supporters are judged to have delivered the best Chants during their First-Round match will score an additional 2 points. In all other rounds of the Jugger Tournament, the Faction with the best chants will score 1 point.
Warbands
Competing teams from each faction fight against each other in a series of battles.
Each team will need to field 15 players per battle. A team is allowed to make any numbers of substitutes after each battle.
The Rules of Warbands
- All character skills, abilities, and items are allowed with the exception of Mass effecting items and abilities
- No external magic or abilities are allowed to be used on those on the pitch while the battle is occurring. The players taking part in a battle however are free to use any magic or abilities that they possess with the exception outlined above
- A battle continues until all players on a side are down. A designated outside representative of each team may also bring an end to a battle at any time. Doing this forfeits that individual battle for that team.
- A player may choose to remove themselves from the battle at any time by raising their hand and walking off of the battlefield and lowering their hand. If they do this then they may not re-join that battle or re-enter the battlefield. One team per Faction
Win Condition: Each Round is a Best of 3 x 5 minute Rounds. If all characters are on the floor then that faction loses. At the end of the 5 minutes, the Faction with most characters still standing wins. If Tie – Faction with Loudest Cheer Wins.

A straight forward game of Strength played over three separate pulls.
